14 Sep 2007 - Friday Newsletter

Thank you to all the staff, parents and governors who have been so welcoming to me as the new headteacher at Hindlip. The children at this school are super characters and their behaviour is a credit to you all. Long may it continue!

Thank you for completing the questionnaires about the climbing frame and extended services. It is not too late to hand them in as the results will be analysed and conclusions highlighted to you in next week's newsletter.

Job Alert!
We are advertising for a secretary to assist myself and Mrs Holmes in the school office. The post will initially be a temporary two days throughout the Autumn term. The job is also advertised in the County Council bulletin. Application packs can be picked up from the office.

We have sent curriculum information for the Autumn Term with this newsletter.

We are collecting Tesco Sport for School Vouchers. Please send them into school as last year we used superstore vouchers to buy a lot of equipment for the children. Thank you.

A polite request - please can all Reception children be dropped off at the gate to Mrs Mirza's classroom, where they can line up. This is part of their progression towards independence and is even more of a necessity at Hindlip due to the space restrictions. The staff have been really pleased with the children (and the parents!) and how well they have settled. Let us try and take the next step now! Thank you.

Football Club for Years 3 and 4 will start on Wednesday 19th September and run every week until light fails us. It will begin after school and finish at 4:15pm. Please send in your parental permission slips to the school office.

If you wish your child to have milk at break time it will cost £8.03 for the term. Please make cheques payable to Worcestershire County Council. I hear that Year 1 children are really missing it. If you have not signed up and paid there is still time!

We would like to formally thank the Fernhill Heath War Memorial Hall committee for their continued support of the school in allowing us to use their car parking facilities at pick up time. Please could you ensure that you are sensitive to the needs of the others when picking up and not block the area leading onto the road. Thank you, your consideration of this matter is of real importance to the safety of the children.

The photographer anticipates that the proofs will arrive next week for you to view and purchase if you so desire.

Just a reminder. Please can the consent and contact details forms be filled in and handed in to the school office as soon as possible - thank you.

When your child is poorly please: Ring the office in the morning to tell us. Provide us with a follow up letter - this is required under policy.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation with this matter, as it will save us a lot of time.
